My full name is Christopher Gerald O'Leary but most people call me Chris. I am 18 years old and I was born on March 12, 1993. I have resided in El Paso, Texas all my life. Coronado High School is the high school I graduated from and received my diploma. My decision for making UTEP my primary choice of colleges to attend is pretty straight forward. I wanted to stay close to home and stay near my family. Choosing a major and figuring out what a person wants to do in life is a very difficult task for a high school student wanting to attend college. Throughout high school, I decided to select computer science as my major. A computer science would introduce me to a deeper knowledge of computers and further my education in that field, possibly becoming a computer programmer. Watching my oldest brother, who is a computer science major, work on computers had inspired me to take this major. I found it very interesting that computers are used for so many things. If I stay on track and pass all of my classes the first time around, my graduation should be in about 4 to 5 years. After I get my degree, I would like to work for a well known computer company such as Microsoft or any other company willing to hire me. Technology is on the rise and I believe this is a solid career choice because there are a lot of opportunities in the field of Computer Science.
